State Mine Heritage Park

The inaugural State Mine Bush Dance is on next weekend, the 23 November at the State Mine Heritage Park in Lithgow. Drawing an impressive line-up of over 20 musicians from all over the state, this event celebrates Lithgow’s Heritage and environment at a venue synonymous with both.

State Mine Heritage Park showcases the industrial and mining history of our community, set against the backdrop of our pristine bush, sitting at the steps of the Wollemi Wilderness area.

This celebration aims to embrace the Lithgow community in honouring Lithgow’s magnificent Gardens of Stone pagoda landscapes, along with Lithgow’s remarkable industrial heritage and Wiradjuri cultural heritage as an ecotourism destination, known as Destination Pagoda.

We hope that this bush dance will be another important step forward in securing the Gardens of Stones Stage 2 Reserve Proposal as a State Conservation Area. Funds raised the bush dance will go to supporting Destination Pagodavisitors’ plan for Lithgow’s Gardens of Stone.

Food is being supplied at the event by the Lithgow Volunteer Rescue Group and the Quota Club. Look forward to some delicious home cooking! It is in all respects a ‘feel good event’ that we want locals and visitors to enjoy, knowing that they are helping locals groups and our community.

The bush dance is on from 3pm next Saturday the 23 November at 3A State Mine Gully Road Lithgow. Tickets are available to purchase from the High Street Music Shop in Main St Lithgow. The event is byo, and food is available to purchase on site. It is a family event and an opportunity to attend a bush dance with live music – a rarity these days. We encourage locals to attend and support these great causes.
