Lithgow Rail 150 year Celebration
Bowenfels Station will have the Station Masters grounds open with railway displays, entertainment and exhibitions to mark the occasion from 10.00am-2.00pm.
The Steam Train from Sydney will arrival at 12.20pm followed be the Ceremony at 12.45pm.

The Lachlan Valley Railway are pleased to announce shuttles to celebrate the 150th Anniversary of the opening of the Great Western Line to Bowenfels. Shuttles will run from Lithgow to Wallerawang. To purchase tickets for the LVR steam shuttles go to the Lachlan Valley Railway website. Enjoy our 1930’s private compartment carriages with windows that you can open!
LVR will also offer Devonshire Tea on board our 1940’s air-conditioned dining carriage stationed at Lithgow State Mine and guided tours of our classic 1950’s diesel 4204.
In addition to the activities at Bowenfels railway station there will be special attractions including an exhibition at Gang Gang Gallery. The Lithgow and District Model Railway Club will be holding an open day with trains running all day on the Saturday from 10.00 am-5.00 pm Come see the history and evolution of train travel with a variety of accurate representations of trains that would’ve ran to Bowenfels. We are located in the shed at old Eskbank Station, opposite the Workies club! . All the Lithgow Heritage Museums and attractions including Small Arms Factory Museum, Eskbank House Museum and Lithgow Blast Furnace Park will be open.
