Daffodils at Rydal

Rydal is a pretty village with some wonderful heritage buildings. Stroll through rural gardens of Karingal, Pendari, Chapel House and Bark Ridge and experience the magic of spring. The gardens are open from 10am to 4 pm. On the weekends lunch is available in the village and a sausage sizzle will be available at "Bark Ridge" on the Hampton/Rydal Road.

The Ten Tunnels 100 year Anniversary
Saturday 16 & Sunday 17 October 2010
100 years since the opening of the Ten Tunnel rail deviation, a major feat of rail engineering which replaced the Zig Zag Rail system as the main link between Sydney and Central NSW. A weekend of activities for families and history buffs has been planned, including Heritage Steam Train Rides from Lithgow, Katoomba and Wallerawang.

Hartley Big Back Yard

For the past Decade the Hartley District Progress Association (HDPA) ‘Big Back Yard’ has been showcasing the best the District and its environs has to offer. The emphasis is on home grown skills and produce, with information available to assist those new to the rural scene and along with the usual live entertainment, animals, displays and raffles. The 10th Anniversary will also have a large display of Vintage, Classic and Muscle Cars as well as first rate Artisan stalls, local wines for sale and hourly activities for the Kids.
